On 10 November 2008, Vattenfall acquired the 300 MW Thanet Offshore Wind project off Margate, Kent, from CRC Energy Jersey 1 Limited / Christofferson, Robb & Co for £35 million, obtaining all shares in Thanet Offshore Wind Limited and the rights to build the wind farm. This transaction transferred full project ownership to Vattenfall and formed part of its strategy to expand its offshore wind portfolio in the UK and northern Europe.
