On 16 May 2023, the TetraSpar Demonstrator consortium of Shell, TEPCO Renewable Power, RWE and Stiesdal Offshore Technologies launched the TetraSpar Innovation Challenge, a global competition inviting start-ups, research institutes, companies and individuals to propose innovations for floating offshore wind that would be tested on the operating TetraSpar floating wind project at METCentre in Norway.
