On 8 July 2021, Ørsted, Falck Renewables (now Renantis) and BlueFloat Energy announced a partnership to jointly pursue large-scale floating offshore wind projects in Scotland’s ScotWind leasing round, forming the consortium that later secured the Stromar floating offshore wind site off Caithness. The partners combined Ørsted’s offshore wind delivery track record, BlueFloat Energy’s floating wind expertise and Falck Renewables’ Scottish community engagement experience to co-develop what became the Stromar project.
