In March 2024, Stromar, the Ørsted–BlueFloat Energy–Renantis joint venture, awarded Glasgow-based subsea specialist Sulmara a major contract to conduct site characterisation at the Stromar floating offshore wind farm off north-east Scotland. Sulmara will deploy the 60m multi-purpose vessel Vos Gorgeous to carry out geophysical investigations across the proposed site in water depths up to 100m, with data acquisition due to commence in April 2024 to inform Stromar’s engineering design and ongoing environmental assessment.
