As of September 2025, Spiorad na Mara announced that, due to the need to identify an alternative grid substation location and undertake additional assessment and consultation, the submission of the onshore planning application for the project’s Onshore Transmission Works would be delayed and was now expected in early 2026, to be lodged separately with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar from the offshore consent applications.
