On 15 July 2025, EirGrid awarded Fugro a seven‑year framework agreement for the Powering Up Offshore – South Coast project, under which Fugro will deliver desktop, geophysical, environmental and geotechnical Geo‑data surveys to support the design of offshore substations and export cable routes connecting future offshore wind farms on Ireland’s south coast to the national grid. The framework will generate an integrated ground model to inform route selection and engineering design, with offshore survey operations scheduled to start in July 2025.
