Commercial operations for the upgraded 150 kV Lefkada-Kefalonia submarine interconnection are projected for H2 2026. Target rationale: Hellenic Cables signed the turnkey EPC contract in November 2024 with a stated project completion target "in 2026" (multiple trade press sources). The 14.8 km submarine cable laying was completed on 17 February 2026 (DP II Atalanti cable-laying vessel, per kefaloniafocus.com article of that date), leaving as remaining work: cable termination and testing at both landing points, commissioning of the upgraded Lefkada and Kefalonia 150 kV substations (substation contractor not publicly disclosed), SCADA integration with the ADMIE control system, and energisation of the new cable in parallel with or replacing the decades-old legacy link. A typical six-to-nine month window between submarine cable laying completion and full energisation for a project of this size and complexity puts full commercial operations in the August-November 2026 range. Anchored at 2026-09-30 (Q3 2026, early H2 2026) with quarter precision to reflect the range uncertainty. No specific first-power or COD date has been published by IPTO/ADMIE or Hellenic Cables. Will be firmed up by the projections agent once IPTO or Cenergy publishes an updated schedule.
