On 31 March 2021, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy received a firm order from RWE to supply 100 SG 14‑222 DD offshore wind turbines for the 1.4 GW Sofia Offshore Wind Farm on Dogger Bank, confirming Siemens Gamesa as the turbine supplier and marking the first commercial deployment of this flagship 14 MW turbine model.
