In 2021, Ocean Ecology completed extensive pre-construction benthic surveys for Sofia, including offshore surveys from the DSV Curtis Marshall collecting underwater imagery and grab samples, and nearshore surveys along the export cable corridor, providing baseline seabed habitat and species data to support the benthic monitoring plan and environmental management.
