RWE and marine contractor Van Oord commenced the offshore foundation installation campaign for the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm in May 2024, using Van Oord’s upgraded jack-up vessel Aeolus to install the first extended monopile foundations on Dogger Bank, 195 km off the UK’s north-east coast.
