In late 2018, Sofia Offshore Wind Farm Limited appointed Ocean Ecology as marine ecological consultants for the 1.4 GW Sofia project on Dogger Bank, tasking them with developing a benthic monitoring plan, mapping sensitive seabed habitats, and advising on export cable routing to minimise environmental impacts during installation.
