Decommissioning Start

According to Sofia Offshore Wind Farm’s indicative decommissioning schedule, project decommissioning activities are planned to start on 1 January 2049, beginning with a year-long pre‑works phase covering preparatory activities on turbine and monopile structures and the offshore converter platform before physical removal of assets. The programme anticipates the subsequent dismantling of generation assets and associated infrastructure, including turbines, foundations, scour protection and inter-array/export cables, in line with the decommissioning measures set out in the project’s Decommissioning Programme.
