DELAYED +11mo (Apr 2026): Sofia’s offshore construction timetable on the official project site now states that the wind farm will be “fully operational” in late 2026, and RWE-linked coverage (e.g. WindInsider, Nov 2025) talks about full commercial operations in 2026 around Q3. This is later than the earlier 2026-01-01 projection, so the full commercial operation of the HVDC/OFTO assets is delayed to late 2026. --- The Sofia HVDC transmission assets, to be transferred under the OFTO TR12 regime, are planned to be in full commercial operation by the time the 1.4 GW Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is completed and operational in 2026. At that point the offshore converter platform, export cables and onshore converter/substation connection into the UK transmission network at Teesside are expected to be fully commissioned and transmitting the project’s full capacity.
