In November 2009, Norwegian transmission system operator Statnett and Danish operator Energinet.dk signed an agreement to jointly construct the Skagerrak 4 HVDC interconnector between Kristiansand (Norway) and Tjele (Denmark), establishing a shared ownership and co-investment structure to increase transmission capacity between the two countries.
