In 2020, Statnett SF took over ownership of the existing 420 kV subsea cable installation over Fensfjorden from BKK. The Fensfjorden cable system, built and completed by BKK in 2019 between Mongstad and Iledalsvågen, thus became a Statnett-owned asset forming the basis for the Haugsvær–Lindås Fensfjordkabelen project.
