In June 2021 Statnett submitted to the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) an application for anleggskonsesjon, expropriation permit and advance access to build and operate a new 300 (420) kV submarine cable connection Haugsvær–Lindås across Fensfjorden, including two new HVAC submarine cables between Mongstad and Iledalsvågen and associated terminations and station works.
