BAM Nuttall

SSEN Transmission appointed BAM Nuttall as main civils contractor for the Shetland HVDC Link. During the construction phase, BAM Nuttall delivered the civil engineering scope for the onshore HVDC assets, including constructing the converter station and HVDC switching station buildings at Kergord and Noss Head, along with access roads and major groundworks. These works provided the structural and infrastructure platform for installation of Hitachi Energy’s HVDC equipment and NKT’s cable system, enabling energisation of the 600 MW ±320 kV Shetland connection and integration into the Caithness–Moray multi-terminal HVDC network.
