Feed Studies

By the time of the 2020 Marine Construction Method Statement, a Cable Burial Risk Assessment FEED study for the Shetland HVDC Link had been completed, defining required burial depths of 1.0–1.75 m and cover of 0.15–0.6 m for approximately 249 km of trenchable route. This FEED study informed SHE Transmission and NKT’s trenching and protection strategy, underpinning the detailed design of subsea cable burial and the associated Cable Burial Protection Plan along the Weisdale Voe–Noss Head route corridor.
