Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SSEN Transmission) selected NKT as the marine cable solution provider for the 600 MW Shetland HVDC Link between Weisdale Voe in Shetland and Noss Head in Caithness. Under this turnkey role NKT is responsible for manufacturing and installing the bundled pair of 320 kV HVDC submarine power cables and associated fibre optic cable along the 253 km subsea route, using its dedicated cable‑lay vessel NKT VICTORIA and delivering a complete 320 kV DC submarine and underground cable system for SSEN Transmission.
