The final route for Sheringham Shoal’s two long submarine export cables from the offshore wind farm to landfall near Weybourne was engineered and agreed with the UK Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) and the Marine and Fisheries Agency (MFA) as part of the project’s licence conditions. The routing work considered engineering feasibility, seabed geological conditions, sediment movements, and the location of sensitive marine organisms and habitats before being approved and implemented.
