Public Consultation

On 20 April 2023, Equinor launched the “SEP & DEP Targeted Consultation 2023” through the projects’ Commonplace community forum for the Sheringham Shoal Extension Project (SEP) and the Dudgeon Extension Project (DEP). This targeted public consultation focuses specifically on a proposed change to the shared SEP & DEP onshore cable route in the area around the Food Enterprise Park. The posting invites stakeholders to click through to view and download the dedicated materials prepared for this consultation, indicating that detailed information on the proposed routing change and its implications has been made publicly available for comment. This activity forms part of Equinor’s broader engagement programme for SEP and DEP, which has included multiple consultation phases and information events. By running a discrete, issue‑specific consultation on the Food Enterprise Park section of the cable route, the developer is seeking focused feedback from affected landowners, local businesses, community members, and other stakeholders who may be directly impacted by the revised alignment. Hosting this consultation on the established Commonplace platform also maintains continuity with earlier engagement activities and provides a transparent, accessible channel for input. The targeted consultation provides an additional opportunity for stakeholders to shape the detailed design of the onshore cable route prior to, and alongside, the formal consenting and examination processes. It evidences Equinor’s effort to refine project proposals in response to local context and to document stakeholder views on route optimisation around a sensitive commercial and employment hub such as the Food Enterprise Park.
