On 23 July 2024, Equinor submitted a non‑material change application for the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Extension Projects to increase their maximum generating capacity from 719 MW to 950 MW by enlarging the total rotor‑swept area and adding an additional interlink cable within the existing Crown Estate lease areas, without changing turbine numbers, size limits, or any onshore infrastructure, and began consulting relevant marine and coastal stakeholders on the proposed variation.
