Final investment decision (FID) on the integrated transmission system for the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Extension Projects is the developer-build-transfer milestone at which Equinor (acting on behalf of Scira Extension Limited and Dudgeon Extension Limited) commits capital to construction of the shared offshore export cables, offshore substations, onshore export cable corridor and new onshore substation south of Norwich Main. As a shared transmission asset under the OTNR Pathfinder regime, transmission FID gates on the wind farm FID decisions for both SEP and DEP. SEP/DEP were eligible for AR7 (results announced 14 January 2026) but did not appear among the AR7 winners. The 2027 FID target reflects assumed entry into AR8 (currently in DESNZ consultation, results window expected late 2026 / early 2027) followed by a typical 6-9 month FID-after-CfD-award gap. Date is an analyst projection on cohort timing and will be superseded by any developer or regulator schedule restatement.
