For the Seagreen Offshore Transmission Asset (OTA), which includes the offshore substations and export cables linking the wind farm to the onshore grid, commissioning and testing activities (Stage 7 of the construction programme) were planned to commence in Q4 2023. Following completion of offshore construction stages such as landfall duct installation, OSP jacket and topside installation, and export and interconnection cable installation, the OTA was scheduled to undergo system commissioning and testing managed by the principal contractors to Seagreen’s and the OFTO’s requirements, including performance, reliability and Grid Code compliance checks prior to handover from construction to operation.
