In January 2020, Petrofac signed a preferred supplier agreement with SSE Renewables for Seagreen, covering the design, supply and installation of the high‑voltage alternating current onshore and offshore substations. This arrangement positioned Petrofac to deliver the offshore substation platform and the new onshore substation at Tealing that step up and transmit power from the offshore wind farm into the Scottish transmission network, assets that are now owned and operated under the Seagreen Phase 1 OFTO.
