In November 2018, the Seagreen project developer launched the main Electrical System Integration (ESI) procurement for the transmission works by tendering a package split into five sub‑packages covering supply and installation of the onshore substation, offshore substation, onshore export cables, offshore export cables, and inter‑array cables. Tenderers were given the option to bid for one, multiple, or all lots, initiating the competitive process to appoint contractors for the substations and export cables that now form the Seagreen Phase 1 OFTO transmission assets.
