In June 2020, SSE Renewables awarded Nexans the full export cable contract for Seagreen Phase 1, covering the design, manufacture and installation of three approximately 65 km offshore export cables and three 20 km onshore export cables. This contract converted Nexans’ preferred supplier status into a binding EPCI award for the 220 kV export circuits that connect the Seagreen offshore wind farm to landfall at Carnoustie and onward to the new Tealing substation, forming the main cable system of the Seagreen Phase 1 OFTO.
