By March 2021, following a feasibility study of six potential offshore export cable routes, Seagreen 1A Limited had selected a preferred export cable corridor from the existing Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm to an identified landfall at Prestonpans Beach and onward to a new onshore substation site adjacent to the existing Cockenzie substation between Prestonpans and Cockenzie/Port Seton.
