On 6 June 2023, East Lothian Council’s Planning Committee unanimously approved Seagreen 1A Limited’s Section 42 application to vary condition 2 of the onshore planning permission in principle at Cockenzie, allowing the project to proceed with either a trenched or trenchless landfall cable installation method subject to further ground investigation and detailed approvals.
