NEXTGEO conducted a geophysical survey of the Sea Link offshore cable corridor (survey data acquired in 2023). The work collected high-resolution bathymetry (MBES), side-scan sonar (SSS), sub-bottom profiler (SBP) and magnetometer data that were incorporated into the Sea Link Integrated Geophysical & Geotechnical Survey Report. The dataset informed seabed morphology mapping, habitat/benthic characterisation, burial and cable-routing assessments, and the marine engineering inputs (including cable burial risk and crossing design) used for the Development Consent Order submission and project engineering. The surveys covered elements of the offshore route between Suffolk and Kent and were combined with earlier survey datasets to provide a unified baseline for design and installation planning. (Past tense used because the survey work was carried out in 2023.)
