As part of Terna’s 2023–2032 investment plan for Italy’s ‘hyper grid’ HVDC infrastructure, around €1.4 billion of planned capital expenditure is allocated to the Sardinian backbone between Sardinia and Lazio (including the SA.PE.I 2 Fiumesanto–Montalto link), indicating the expected project cost and its role within a wider €11 billion hyper grid programme.
