The Italian Ministry for Environment and Energy Security (MASE) opened the EIA scoping public and stakeholder consultation for the 2,000 MW floating offshore wind project "Sardinia North East", located off the north‑eastern coast of Sardinia near Olbia. The scoping phase for the definition of the EIA contents (procedura di Definizione contenuti SIA, PNIEC‑PNRR, procedure ID 10166) formally started on 31 August 2023 and ran until 30 September 2023, during which competent environmental bodies such as regional authorities and other stakeholders submitted observations on the project and its planned grid connection to the national transmission network near Civitavecchia.
