In 2014, Bladt Industries A/S signed a turnkey contract with Sandbank Offshore Wind GmbH, the joint venture of Vattenfall (51%) and Stadtwerke München (49%), to deliver the offshore substation for the Sandbank offshore wind farm. Under this contract Bladt is responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the Sandbank offshore substation (OSS). The agreement establishes Bladt as the main contractor for the OSS, complementing its parallel role supplying transition pieces via a subcontract from EEW SPC. The Sandbank OSS will collect power from the 72 turbines at 33 kV and step it up to 155 kV for transmission to the SylWin alpha converter platform.
