Manufacturing Update

Bladt Industries began manufacturing 72 transition pieces for the Sandbank offshore wind farm at its Aalborg fabrication site in Denmark in the third quarter of 2014. The transition pieces form part of the monopile-based foundations for the project’s 72 turbines. The fabrication campaign was executed at Bladt’s Aalborg yard as part of its turnkey scope for Sandbank, which also includes delivery of the offshore substation. This marked the start of large-scale serial production of key substructures for Sandbank, with work proceeding according to schedule apart from some weather‑related load‑out delays.
