Vattenfall reported that the total investment cost for the Sandbank offshore wind farm is around EUR 1.2 billion. Sandbank is a 288 MW project consisting of 72 Siemens 4 MW turbines located about 90–110 kilometres west of the island of Sylt in the German North Sea. The figure represents the overall capital expenditure required to develop and construct the wind farm, including turbines, monopile foundations, offshore substation, and associated infrastructure such as the SylWin1 export connection. The same order-of-magnitude investment figure is also cited in earlier construction updates describing inter-array cable installation, confirming EUR 1.2 billion as the headline project capex.
