MarineSpace, an ERM Group company, was appointed in December 2022 to lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Salamander floating offshore wind project off northeast Scotland. The scope covered the offshore array area, export cable corridor, landfall, and onshore substation, encompassing characterisation studies, baseline reporting, impact assessments and the suite of EIA Report volumes that ultimately supported the Marine Licence (00010807) and Section 36 consent applications. ERM/MarineSpace was retained through the consenting cycle to the Section 36 consent award (24 July 2025), with EIA Volume 3 lodged with Marine Scotland in April 2024 and supporting volumes through May 2024. The Salamander Newsletter Edition 3 (December 2025) credits ERM with the Scotstown Beach landfall imagery in its community communications, reflecting continuing engagement on the project's environmental work-streams.
