Odfjell Oceanwind (OOW) completed the acquisition of Ørsted’s 80% share in the 100 MW Salamander floating offshore wind farm, located 35 km off Peterhead, Scotland. Following the transaction, OOW became the new majority owner alongside existing partners Simply Blue Group and Subsea7, with the consortium intending to use the project—already holding an INTOG exclusivity agreement and Section 36 consent—as a demonstrator for OOW’s Deepsea Star semisubmersible steel foundations and for commercial-scale floating offshore wind.
