On 7 August 2022, Salamander commenced its first offshore geophysical survey campaign at the project site off the east coast of Scotland, with contractor Ocean Infinity using the vessel Northern Franklin to survey the offshore array area and export cable route corridor as part of a wider programme of site investigations.
