Two lengths of 33.5 km 225 kV 3-core submarine export cable for the Saint-Brieuc grid connection (RTE), plus 93 km land cables
Nexans was awarded a contract by RTE France to supply and install the 225 kV power export cable system for the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm grid connection (Saint-Brieuc Export). The scope comprised two 33.5 km lengths of 225 kV three-core submarine export cable (67 km total subsea cable supplied) with hybrid armouring and a fibre optic element, as well as 93 km of 225 kV single-core land cables. Nexans was also responsible for installing the subsea cables using its cable-laying vessel CS Skagerrak and trenching using the Capjet system. The contract included Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) services for the offshore part of the link, with subsea cable laying planned to start in spring 2022.
