Public Power Corporation of Greece awarded Nexans a €20m contract on 24 May 2005 for the supply and installation of submarine and terrestrial 150 kV cables for the Sagiada–Agios Vassilios electricity and communications link between mainland Greece and Corfu. Under the contract Nexans will deliver 68 km of submarine cable to be laid at depths of around 70 m and 16 km of underground cable, enabling a 175 MW high‑voltage transmission connection to support Corfu’s growing power and telecommunications demand.
