Installation of 2 x 12.5 km 132 kV three-core subsea export cables forming the Robin Rigg offshore transmission link from the offshore substations to shore.
Subocean installed the subsea export cables for the Robin Rigg offshore transmission assets under an installation contract with E.ON Climate & Renewables (UK) Ltd. Its scope covered offshore construction activities for two 132 kV three-core HVAC export cables, each about 12.5 km long, running from the Robin Rigg offshore substations to the shore connection point. Subocean carried out the cable laying and associated marine works along the designated routes in the Solway Firth, delivering an installed export cable system that enabled the 180 MW Robin Rigg East and West wind farms to be connected into the onshore network prior to transfer of the transmission assets to the OFTO.
