E.ON provided operations and maintenance services for the Robin Rigg transmission assets, including the offshore and onshore substations and the export cable system. During the warranty phase of the wind farm, E.ON was responsible for balance-of-plant maintenance and implemented Wind Turbine Safety Rules and high-voltage rules, overseeing on- and offshore substation maintenance, balance of array and export cables, and wider HV system management. After the initial warranty and service period ended in December 2014, E.ON adopted a self‑perform strategy, directly employing technicians and managing all O&M activities, including operational arrangements for the offshore transmission assets and centralised control room monitoring of HV systems. This role covers the operational phase O&M of the offshore HVAC substation(s), associated onshore substation equipment, and export cabling for the Robin Rigg OFTO connection.
