Description
Smulders fabricated the 25 tubular steel monopile foundations and transition pieces for the Rhyl Flats Offshore Wind Farm. Monopiles were 4–5.85 m diameter, designed to penetrate up to ~40 m into the seabed. Foundation installation by MT Højgaard ran April–July 2008 using the heavy-lift vessel Svanen.
