On 9 January 2024, one of the high‑voltage export cables linking the Rentel offshore platform to the mainland failed following an incident, taking that transmission path out of service. Thanks to the meshed Modular Offshore Grid (MOG), power from Rentel and the other connected wind farms could still be routed to shore via alternative cables, avoiding loss of overall generation despite the outage of this Rentel–mainland connection.
