After the 9 January 2024 failure of one of the export cables between the Rentel offshore platform and the mainland, a repair campaign was undertaken in which 400 metres of the damaged cable were replaced over several months. During these complex repair works, transmission was maintained by rerouting power via the MOG’s OSY platform, and Elia’s offshore teams ultimately restored the cable under difficult conditions.
