Engie Fabricom, in partnership with Iemants, was responsible for delivering both offshore substations for the Race Bank project. The partners built the jacket foundations and 2,900-tonne topsides and dispatched the completed substations from Hoboken, Belgium, to the Race Bank site in the UK sector of the North Sea. These platforms form part of the Race Bank OFTO transmission asset set, housing the electrical equipment that steps up array cable power to 220 kV for export to shore.
