Asso.subsea completed the installation, burial, and protection of the Provence Grand Large export and inter-array dynamic cables, including route preparation and configuration of the lazy-wave sections, covering approximately 21 km of cable to connect the floating turbines to the Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône onshore station in France.
Prysmian, the turnkey contractor for the Provence Grand Large export and inter-array cable system, states that onshore cable installation would commence in January 2023, with offshore cabling following in September 2023. This indicates that the cable installation phase started in January 2023, consistent with the projected 2023 construction phase for the 19 km subsea and 9 km underground export cable owned by RTE.
Prysmian Group was awarded a turnkey contract worth about €30 million by EDF Renouvelables to provide the cable system for the Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind project off southern France, including approximately 3 km of dynamic 66 kV inter-array submarine cables, 19 km of export cable, and 9 km of onshore land cable connecting the wind farm to the grid. The scope also includes a PRY-CAM permanent monitoring system for continuous condition monitoring of all inter-array connections.
