Offshore site preparation for the Princess Elisabeth Island export cable routes is scheduled to form part of the 2027 installation campaign, with Jan De Nul deploying its trailing suction hopper dredgers to pre‑level the seabed between the island and the Belgian coast before HVAC cable laying. These seabed preparation works are included in Jan De Nul’s contract for three 220 kV high‑voltage subsea cables totaling about 165 km that will connect the energy island to Belgium’s onshore grid.
