PLOCAN Test Site (REDSUB)

PLOCAN’s REDSUB electrical infrastructure for the marine test site comprises two existing medium‑voltage submarine cable connections rated at 5 MW each, with a stated total node/export capacity of 15 MW (noting references to 3 × 5 MW and a planned additional 5 MW cable). The submarine grid operates at 13.2 kV (with a planned 20 kV, 5 MW cable also described) and connects onshore via an underground cable to a land substation with a 13.2/66 kV transformer to deliver power to the island/national electricity transmission grid.

Onshore substations

Export cables
