In August 2022, Highland Wind Limited submitted marine licence applications to Marine Scotland for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm and its offshore export transmission infrastructure. The applications sought permission to install anchors, mooring lines, floating substructures, inter-array cables and offshore export cables on or under the seabed within 12 nautical miles of the Caithness coast.
